We are OPEN and ready to serve you (SAFELY) during Ohio's Stay At Home Order

To all of our bicycling family,

As you are likely aware, state of Ohio officials have issued a "Stay At Home" order effective at 11:59pm tonight (Monday, March 23, 2020) to help address the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In the text of the order (you can read it here), bicycle shops are listed as "essential services" and are permitted to remain open to the public for business.

We appreciate that the state has recognized the importance that bicycling plays in our transportation system. Whether you ride for transportation or for the benefit of your physical and mental health, we are proud to continue serving our customers. However, there is no "business as usual" for anybody during this time, including us.

We are continuing the safety measures put in place already, and are making additional changes to help ensure the health of our staff, customers, and the community. Please continue reading below for details. Also note that as conditions are rapidly changing, our response and policies may also change.

We wish to thank our customers for your support during this difficult time. We also thank our staff for their dedication and diligence.

Go outside, enjoy a bike ride, or a walk, hike, or run -- just do it safely! We appreciate your cooperation as you visit a Century Cycles store in Medina, Peninsula, or Rocky River.

Sincerely,

-Your friends at Century Cycles

Policies at all three of our stores

We are reducing our store hours. Effective on Tuesday, March 24 , our hours of operation at all three stores are:

  • Monday through Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm
  • Sunday: 12:00 - 5:00pm

We can arrange "touch-free" drop-offs and pickups of bicycles and merchandise. Just call us when you reach the store.

Please visit us to address any specific bicycling needs you have, and try to keep "just browsing" to a minimum in order to minimize person-to-person contact, as well as contact with other merchandise. Feel free to call us in advance to discuss your needs, check stock, and ask for our recommendations. Browse at home at centurycycles.com!

Please practice "social distancing" while in the store and leave 6 feet of space between yourself and our staff and other customers.

We can take credit card payments over the phone prior to pickup of service bicycles and/or merchandise.

While a full tune-up is usually our recommendation to get the best performance out of your bicycle, we will do our best to look it over and make any quick adjustments on the spot to get you rolling immediately, rather than having to drop off and come back at a later date, if possible.

We are using sanitizing cleaner on all new and serviced bicycles just prior to pickup. We are washing and/or sanitizing our own hands frequently, as well as cleaning all counters, payment terminals, door handles, restrooms, and other common surfaces.

As always, our web store is open 24/7 at centurycycles.com, for shipping to you or free in-store pickup. Please be patient and allow us extra time to process your orders.

Our staff is required to stay home if they do not feel well. We are checking our temperatures daily. Some of our administrative staff has already been working from home on a limited basis, and this will expand as time goes on.

Medina

We are offering discounted pickup/delivery service for tune-up bicycles. Normally $20, we will pick up your bicycle at your home, and drop it off when complete, for $10. Please call us at 330-722-7119 to make arrangements. Our store is large enough that it is very easy to maintain personal space!

Peninsula

The limited space inside our store makes it more of a challenge to provide social distancing. While we are still OPEN, we will be keeping our entrance door LOCKED to better manage traffic. Please knock firmly, then step back 6 feet from the door, and we'll come and address your needs as soon as possible.

We ask that you wait outside the store while any while-you-wait repair work is performed.

Bike rentals for the Towpath Trail are available for the time being; we use sanitizing cleaner on all contact points of rental bikes before and after each use.

The National Park Service has cancelled all special-use permits through April, so our first Night Ride on the Towpath Trail (scheduled for April 18) is CANCELLED. Stay tuned for updates about later events.

Rocky River

We are temporarily suspending all bike rentals. The store is large enough that we feel we have been able to maintain personal space, but we will continue to monitor this and make adjustments if necessary.
