The stress-free guide to fixing a flat tire on your bike, from PeopleforBikes.org

Our friends at PeopleForBikes.org created this awesome video showing you the basic steps for fixing a flat tire on your bike. Two helpful tips that we'd add:

1. PRACTICE! In your garage or living room, relax with your favorite beverage, take your wheel off of your bike, and try removing and re-installing the inner tube a few times. That way, when you're stuck out on the road or trail, the process will be more familiar to you.

2. After you find the hole in your inner tube, hold the tube next to your rim in the original position as when you removed it from your tire (line up the tube's valve with the valve opening in the rim). This helps narrow down where you search for thorns or other debris stuck in the tire -- start looking in the tire near the area where you found the hole in the tube.

If you are not familiar with the process of removing and re-installing the wheel on your bicycle, please bring it into any of our three Century Cycles stores (in Medina, Peninsula, or Rocky River), and we'll be glad to show you!
