Bicycle touring visitor warms up in Peninsula during snowstorm

With what could possibly be the latest bicycle-touring visitor we've ever had in a season, Kurt stopped into the Century Cycles store in Peninsula today (Tuesday, November 12, 2019) to warm up after getting stuck in our first snowstorm of the season! He left Cincinnati on Monday, November 4 and has been riding the Ohio to Erie Trail towards Cleveland, camping along the way.

Although we have to say that our toughest bike touring visitors were still Wilson and his chihuahua Polo, who were riding through the area in single-digit temperatures back in January of 2014!

You can see photos of bike touring visitors in all three of our stores in our Bicycle Touring Photo Gallery.

October’s a fine time for pumpkins and cider, witches and ghosts,
But it’s also a great time to bring your bike in for what it needs most.

Is your bike creepy, creaky, and cobwebby? Is it a thing of nightmares? Is it plagued by gremlins in your gears and demons in your derailleurs? Are your brakes driving you batty? Does their screaming give you goosebumps? Are your tires all tricks and no treats?

Well, then take advantage of our Halloween Tune-Up Special before the weather turns ghoulish and ghastly. (We all know Winter is coming!)

Let the mechanical wizards and warlocks at Century Cycles exorcise those evil bicycle spirits and make your bike BOO-tiful again.

Costumes encouraged and appreciated, especially on Halloween (Oct. 31st)!

Join us for a scenic ride through parks, small towns and rural Medina County!

On Sept. 14, 2019 bicyclists will set out on Medina County’s scenic back roads and park trails for the fourth-annual Lake to Lake Harvest Bike Tour.

All rides begin and end at Buckeye Woods Park, 6335 Wedgewood Lane in Medina.

The Lake to Lake Harvest Bike Tour includes: marked routes, maps, SAG support, water stops, snack stops on the longer routes, and lunch upon completion of the ride. Riders who pre-register receive a free T-shirt.

Registration forms are available at Century Cycles, 1059 North Court Street in Medina, and at Medina County Park District Headquarters, 9364 Deerview Lane in Lafayette Township. Online registration, as well as printable registration forms, are available here.

New film "Music for Free" from Salsa Cycles - watch FREE for 48 hours only!

In the summer of 2018, musician Ben Weaver and filmmaker Keenan DesPlanques took on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route on the Music for Free tour. Riding self-supported with instruments and camera gear, they stopped for 16 scheduled performances along the 3,000-mile route, which stretches from Banff, Alberta, Canada to Antelope Wells, New Mexico. The Salsa Cycles sponsored film documents their beautiful journey down this iconic American corridor, exploring wilderness, what it means to be wild, and examining the common denominators we all hold dear as human beings who share this planet.
From 6:00pm Friday, August 16th to 6:00pm on Sunday, August 18th, 2019 (Eastern time), anyone can watch the film via online streaming for free.
