5-Minute Kid's Bike Safety Check from Park Tool

Before you let your child hop on any new (or used) bicycle, check out the video above from Park Tool Company about how to perform a 5-minute safety check.

Unlike bicycles purchased from an independent bicycle dealer like Century Cycles, bicycles purchased in the big-box stores do not benefit from assembly by a professional bike mechanic. They frequently fail many (or all) of the tests shown in the video!

If you have any concerns about the safety of any bicycle of yours or your children, regardless of where it was purchased, please bring it to one of our stores for a free inspection! We'll check to see if it's safe, and provide a free estimate for any repairs or adjustments needed.

Say Hello to your local Liv Ambassador!

The Liv Ambassador Program is extended to women across the country seeking to develop the women’s cycling community through the Liv Cycling brand and their local Liv retailer, Century Cycles. These women act as a liaison of the Liv brand in their region and will lead rides, give informational clinics, and act as a go-to resource for Liv and general cycling-related information.

Please meet your Liv Ambassador, Deltrece Daniels! You may recognize Deltrece from her day job as the Outreach & Membership Manager for Bike Cleveland! Her favorite bike is her Liv Avail road bike. Her favorite place to ride is the Western Reserve Greenway rail-trail in Ashtabula County. Her must-have cycling accessory is a bike lock. When she's not riding, she's busy planning routes for her next ride. Her life goal is to ride her bicycle in each of the 50 states in the USA, and abroad in Africa.

Starting in February, Deltrece will be hosting four Liv Signature Events here in the Cleveland area. For updates, plus to join in the conversation about women's cycling issues in Northeast Ohio, there's a new Facebook group! Join now at:

In Stock: Blackburn Outpost Frame Bags for Bikepacking

The frame bag is a favorite among bikepacking fans and bicycle touring enthusiasts who want to pack light and save weight. They're also a handy way to haul around that "happy medium" amount of stuff -- more than the usual fast ride, less than a full touring load.

Previously, frame bags were mostly only available from small, custom bag makers. These folks do great work, but they are typically very expensive and have long lead times and waiting lists.

Now, Blackburn Design brings frame bags to the everyday rider at a reasonable price. We've got the Blackburn Design Outpost Frame Bags in stock! They come in Small, Medium, and Large sizes fit most bikes -- bring your bike with you to test-fit!

The Blackburn Outpost frame bags feature an expanding bottom, so you can partially or fully fill the main triangle of your bike frame, depending on your needs.
The mounting straps are movable, so you have the flexibility to fit the bags around cables, derailers, and other accessories. There's also a hydration tube exit hole, which comes in handy if you want to carry your water inside the bag (since the bag will occupy the space where your water bottles usually go).

The Blackburn Outpost Frame Bags are a perfect complement to Blackburn's other bikepacking gear (also in stock in Century Cycles stores):
