Happy Holidays! Sales Tax Holiday, that is.

The Ohio Department of Taxation has enacted a Sales Tax Holiday to help families preparing for the back-to-school season. The Sales Tax Holiday will take place this Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9, 2015.

The sales tax exemption during the Sales Tax Holiday period applies to certain clothing and school supplies items. For complete details about what is included and what is not, see the Ohio Department of Taxation Sales Tax Holiday FAQ page.

Based on that information, we have determined that the following clothing items available in our stores are eligible for the sales tax exemption this Friday through Sunday:
  • Bicycling jerseys
  • Bicycling shorts
  • Jackets and vests
  • T-shirts and sweatshirts
  • Pants
  • Hats, caps, skullcaps, and ear bands
  • Socks
  • Shoe covers and toe covers
  • Shop aprons
There is no limit on the total amount of your purchase to be eligible for the sales tax exemption, but each INDIVIDUAL ITEM must be priced at $75.00 or LESS to be eligible. Partial exemptions can NOT be given for items over $75.

The following items are NOT eligible for the Sales Tax Holiday:
  • Bicycles and bicycle parts
  • Bike locks, other bicycling accessories, and tools
  • Bicycling shoes
  • Bike helmets
  • Other protective equipment (e.g. elbow and knee pads)
  • Cycling gloves
  • Sunglasses
  • Bike rental
  • Labor and service
If you're in need to stock up on bicycling clothing, this weekend is a great opportunity!
