Bicycle Advocacy Weekend; Saturday Edition

There's never a shortage of opportunities for every to exercise their bicycle advocacy muscles, and here are two easy ways that you can do RIGHT NOW!

First, the Safe Streets Act was introduced in the US House of Representatives last year, and the same bill was introduced in the Senate last week. Both chambers are drafting transportation bills as we speak, so now is the time to let your elected representatives know that you want complete streets included! Use this easy form from the League of American Bicyclists!

Next, right here in our backyard in Northeast Ohio ... Geauga County is close to completing the Maple Highlands Trail, a 21-mile multi-use path. However, county commissioners are stalling to grant the necessary approvals for the final 1.33-mile section to connect the two halves of the trail in downtown Chardon. Use this handy-dandy form provided by Bike Cleveland to let them know how you feel!
