I do not understand? The entire towpath trail? Or sections, or what? Forever, or for how long?
ReplyDeleteIs any sections open? South of Massillon, or north of Akron? Where can one get more info?
Peter, the key to understanding this news item is to note the date on which it was posted.
ReplyDeleteYup, you got me! Wow, just woke up, still fuzzy, read the email, couldn't believe it, went to the link and was just not understanding...
DeleteI will say, you guys had me quite upset! Was planning to go to the shop and ask the guys there if there was no update soon...
Call me a sucker
OK so that part is an April fools joke but I tried to ride the trail yesterday and it was closed just south of Rockside rd. Is these any information a to what part of the trail is open?
ReplyDeleteYou can find alerts for trail closures within the National Park by going to the park's home page at: http://www.nps.gov/cuva
DeleteThis is all that is said:
ReplyDelete"Towpath Trail Closure
The National Park Service has closed the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail from Hillside Road to Stone Road in Valley View. A section of the trail is not passable due to hazardous conditions caused by erosion. Please respect all signs and closures."
Do we have any idea for how long?
