According to a recent article in the Akron Beacon-Journal, the Metroparks Serving Summit County reports that park attendance saw a significant increase in the year 2009.Attendance at all Summit County Metroparks jumped by 382,000 visitors, for a total of 4,918,122 visitors in 2009, an al-time record. This includes the Bike & Hike Trail and the 18-mile section of Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail that is within the county's jurisdiction.
