2010: A PC Odyssey

With 2010 comes new bikes, new weather, new bottom bracket standards, and one more new thing here at Century Cycles world headquarters: new computers. Yes, gentle readers, I am finally putting the dear old TRS-80 out to pasture:

A calculator you can buy at the Dollar Deal$ store is faster than this old beast. Yet, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the old gal. She has been my trusted friend for my entire 5+ years here in the bike bidness. So long, TRS-80! I will miss the hum and whirr of your bad-sector-ridden hard disk.

Meet Hal, the new computer. Nothing special about him, but just the ticket for posting these blog updates, eNewsletters, Facebook rants, Tweets, and other inter-web items with lightening-like efficiency. Dark as Darth Vader's helmet. Quiet like the deep of space.

"Open the rental barns doors, Hal," I say.

"I'm sorry, Dave, I can't do that," he replies.

So he still needs a little work. I'll start by teaching him that my name's not Dave.

  1. Please recycle that old computer! (and to ensure privacy, destroy the hard drive before you do)

  2. I'm glad you like him, supercharged, just for you. ;)
