Raleigh donates a new bike to our own Keith Heffernan

Keith, one of the mechanics in our Medina store, lost most of his possessions (including his bikes) when his house caught fire last month.

Yesterday, at our annual staff retreat, Sean Burkey, our Territory Manager for Raleigh/Diamondback Bicycles, presented a bike to Keith. The bike is a Diamondback Scapegoat, a freeride mountain bike, which is numbered "1" out of a series of only 25 of these limited-edition bikes that were made. Check out the presentation in this video (parental advisory: Keith gets a little explicit in expressing his excitement and gratitude).

Stay tuned for more pictures from our annual staff retreat!

  1. A HUGE thank you to Diamondback/Raleigh for making this possible. There's a lot of talk about corporations caring, helping out and giving back. They are the real deal. Congratulations, Keith. I know that Scapegoat found the right guy.

  2. Friends don't let friends go bikeless! Yes, our friends at Raleigh really showed what kind of stuff they are made of. They are truly a manufacturer who cares about their dealers, and this extraordinary act of generosity shows that. Congrats Keith- you deserve it! :)

  3. Saw-wweet!

As I side note, it must be a really cool job to be the sales rep for a bike manufacturer. Next to being a wine sales rep, it would be a dream job for me if I knew more about bike mechanics! I'm really good at the enthusiasm factor for a good product. =)

  4. Actually, an even better job would be one where I could demo bikes all day. ;)
