Now in stock: Salsa Cycles Cutthroat X9

The Cutthroat is the long-awaited successor to the Fargo bicycle from Salsa Cycles. Like the Fargo, the Cutthroat is a drop-bar rigid mountain bike designed for off-road touring.

The name of the bike comes from the official state fish of every state that the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route passes through. The Cutthroat features a full carbon frame and fork. Favoring light weight over utility, the bike does not allow for racks and fenders, but rather is made to carry your stuff in bike-packing frame bags, and oversize seat bag, and/or handlebar roll. The fork has eyelets for Salsa Anything Cages.

The Cutthroat X9 model (pictured above) features a SRAM X9 2x10 drive train, Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes, Stan's NoTubes rims, and Schwalbe Thunder Burt tubeless-ready tires. The whole package (size Medium, with test-ride pedals) weighs in at only 24 pounds, 13 ounces.
