The Ted Crow Challenge: Don't knock knickers

Now it's time in The Ted Crow Challenge to address what has the potential to become one of your favorite pieces of cycling clothing -- knickers. If you've been binding pant legs with rubberbands, the freedom of knickers will be heaven-sent. As you can see on Brent, they don't look half-bad either. Brent is wearing:

Endura Hummvee 3/4 Knickers ($89.99): Straight from the Scottish Highlands, these knickers have a Teflon-coated nylon fabric that laughs at rain and scoffs at puddles. Detachable liner and six pockets mean you're good to go a ways -- a long ways -- without anybody mistaking you for a guy who would attack anybody in a parking lot.

Pearl Izumi Vagabond II ($99.99): Picture-proof it's a jacket that converts very nicely into a vest.

Pearl Izumi Woolie Mammoth Jersey ($99.99): Looking just as cool -- and feeling just as warm -- in black as it does below in tan.

Pearl Izumi X-Alp Seek Shoes ($84.99):
Sweet shoes, good both on and off the bike. Quick-drying, X-Alp Seeks boast nylon plates for pedaling efficiency and beveled heels for easy walking.

Pearl Izumi Argyle Tour Socks ($9.99): Knickers are also a good reason to show off some of your cool cycling socks. You've got cool cycling socks, right?

Pearl Izumi Cyclone Gloves ($39.99)

Timbuk2 Bag ($84.99)
